“Technik” / Technology
A very old artifact of information technology, consisting of hardware (colored ink on vellum sheets bound in a codex format) and software (ideas, narratives, and images stored for later retrieval, even into the far future). Improved by later technological advances, these data storage units were (and are) key to the flourishing of civilization.
