Think about mp3 CDs… …Or worse, ATRAC CDs (yes those really existed), which thankfully also never caught on because had they caught on, given ATRAC is a proprietary Sony codec, they would’ve only been able to be played back on Sony CD players which supported the ATRAC codec.
