Every week, I used to cycle to one of the nearby shopping centres and buy a loaf, that was made on the premises and was quite decent. Then they doubled the price and decreased the size by a third - when it's available at all. I no longer make that trip.

As far as bread is concerned, Singas is a place where bread listed as sourdough has undergone a process where it is blessed with a starter in a hermetically sealed jar waved over it, before they add the yeast and bake it normally.

It's almost criminal what they do to bread here. I'd hate to be French. Not because of the bread, but just because... 🤣
