Haqqani stated that over the past nearly five years the Taliban have engaged in negotiations with Pakistan regarding the TTP, repeatedly telling Pakistani officials that the TTP is an internal Pakistani matter. He said that, despite these efforts, the Talibanโ€™s supreme leader convened a high-level meeting with the chief justice, the ministers of defence and interior, and the director general of intelligence, instructing senior officials, including Haqqani, to travel across all seven zones and eight military corps to deliver a clear message: Taliban members must not join the TTP or participate in 'jihad' against Pakistani establishment. Referring to the establishment of the Eslahi (reform) commission, Haqqani said the Taliban had taken concrete steps to enforce this policy, including the arrest of thousands of Taliban members suspected of intending to go to Pakistan and join the TTP. He said many of those detainees remain imprisoned. He also mentioned the arrest of a prominent Taliban propagandist, @mobeenkhan1231, emphasizing that these measures were taken in the interests of the Afghan nation and to avoid escalation with Pakistan. Haqqani also criticized Afghanistanโ€™s former republican government for allowing Pakistan to fence the Durand Line, an issue that remains a source of tension between the Taliban and Pakistan, stating that the Taliban would never have permitted the fencing had they been in power at the time.
