The first of more than 100 publicly owned electric #buses has arrived in the #Liverpool City Region, ahead of entering service in the coming weeks. The zero-emission double-deckers, built by Wrightbus and Alexander Dennis Limited, can travel up to 275 miles on a 90-minute charge and feature wheelchair and pram space, audio-visual announcements, USB charging and free Wi-Fi. Purchased by the Combined Authority, the fleet supports Mayor Steve Rotheram’s target for the region to reach net zero by 2035. The rollout comes as buses are brought back under local control for the first time in 40 years.
