A passenger who suffered a cardiac arrest on a train has been reunited with the rail staff who helped save his life. Ian Drewry, 69, collapsed while travelling from #Swindon to #London #Paddington on 14 September last year as the service approached #Reading. A fellow passenger raised the alarm and a doctor on board began CPR while another called 999. Train Manager Veronika Rogers alerted the driver and control teams to ensure the train was held at Reading, where staff including dispatchers Jack McIntyre and Michael Lamb brought a defibrillator and cleared the platform. Emergency services took over and Mr Drewry was later taken to hospital, where he recovered. He returned to Reading to thank rail workers, Network Rail and ambulance crews for their swift response. https://news.gwr.com/news/thank-you-for-helping-to-save-my-life-passenger-who-suffered-cardiac-arrest-reunited-with-quick-thinking-rail-staff
