I'm new to lemmy, came from reddit. What's the lemmy etiquette like? How different is it from reddiqutte?

I’m new as in this is my first day using lemmy. I don’t know anything about lemmy etiquette and don’t want to do anything bad thanks and have an amazing day! also plz be kind :D

Mostly the same. There are some differences you’ll figure out as you go but my favorite is that there is no Karma. I like that people aren’t posting to “win”. There is some debate over how upvotes and downvotes should be used since it’s not for Karma, but honestly it’s not that big of a deal. Upvotes will make it easier for other people to find the post. Downvotes make it harder. That’s it, more or less. Welcome home!

It would be funny to see the karma converted to currency usable to buy awards to give away. Interactions like: “Take my hard won [insert currency name here] in the shape of this award and get out!” Nothing for nothing, get your things for free.
