Why are so many boomers using their phone on speaker in public spaces? In more general terms, why do boomers imitate the most annoying habits of younger generations?

I think it's because boomers are the generation that is the most desperate to be seen as hip. The most ingratiating generation ever. I would much prefer them, if they stil said "you dig?" and had not given up the back to the land movement after one rough winter.

What are your theories?
