@QCCEChris @smeg have you tried commuting by bike using your city's cycle lanes? You should - you'd probably discover why folks don't, and then you'd be better able to push your municipal government to fix those problems and make cycling infrastructure that's fit for purpose.

Because I promise you, those bike commuters aren't in front of your car for fun.
