@danbrotherston ... and Mark Carney is very much on board with increasing extraction of fossil fuels, while suppressing alternatives. He certainly has no interest in denting the profits of the (mostly foreign-owned) oil industry in Canada. OTOH, a solid majority of Canadians have supported windfall taxes on the oil industry for years now. Carney used to pretend to care what the "owners of Canada" thought -- it will be even more difficult to influence LPC policy now he's in a majority, but we have to keep trying, right?
