@toonie@meow.social Tbh some cats are just generally larger, especially male cats of certain breeds. Weight alone doesn’t tell you much, body shape matters more. If you can *easily* feel his ribs when touching *and* he has a visible waist shape when you look at him from above when he is standing up, then he might just be a big-framed little dude. But honestly, the safest bet is to get a vet's opinion whether or not he needs to eat less and if so how to go about it.

Edit: Also, respectfully to the other couple of comments I've seen saying "he doesn't look fat in the pics", a picture is no way to 100% tell if an animal needs to lose weight or if there are any underlying issues you need to check, and I personally wouldn't solely rely on strangers on the internet for the wellbeing of my pets.
