People who have legally changed their first or last names (marriage not included), what is the reason you changed it?

Not me obviously since it’s from 1929 Poland, but this dude changed his name in court, from Huj (the most crass synonym for penis) to Haliński. Reason rather obvious. There were also anecdotes from the same period about convertite Jews changing their last names to Polish ones twice, because they were often asked what was their former name.
