I’ve thought about this sort of thing for a while but ended up going down the Git route, allowing reviewers to leave comments on “elements” within a particular Git revision (paragraphs, images, code blocks are all elements).

I love the idea of your stack and drafts, and not using Git at all as the foundation of everything. Very much agree that it’s incredibly difficult to learn / teach.
