As a recent graduate, this resonates. The goal is throughput of students. Difficult subject matter is avoided so more students can pass. If you want to specialise, do postgrad. The level of workplace skills that used to require HSC or a TAFE certificate, equivalent to a skilled trade, now requires an undergraduate degree. Skilled workers have to jump through more and more hoops (and pay fees for each one) to enter the same work.
