@RadicalAnthro There is also the component of myths and folklore, that we see as just a "superstition" because we try to interpret it in the only way that makes sense to us, ie as an objective description of the nature of reality, while my impression is that these myths and folklore explain /the role/ that people play within nature, they explain what is expected of them in order to be part of a greater whole. I'm not an anthropologist and I'm overgeneralizing, but I've been thinking about this for a long time.
