David Icke here in the UK had a failed end of world prediction in 1997 that he was endlessly pilloried for.
There's the unfortunate case of Michael Fish who (technically correct) responded to a concerned viewer who called in asking if there was a hurricane that night.
He denied it.
Southern Britain got battered by the worst storm in a century that night.
He never really got to live that one down
