What happened: One of the domains had an included SSL-certificate that I had to renew yearly. Recently this renewal was up and I noticed that my contract got migrated into a legacy package and that the free certificate is no longer included. I opened a service ticket (which - to be fair - got a reply quickly) and asked what this is about. The answer was that not including the free certificate anymore is supposed to offer customers more freedom in choosing whether they really want it.
