A lawsuit filed in the Northern District of California on 31 March alleges Perplexity shared its users' chat logs with Meta and Google, and three of which are listed as defendants. The lawsuit also alleges Perplexity offered an "incognito" mode which in reality provided no extra protection.

I can't find the docket on Court Listener (yet), but here is the complaint from Ars Technica: https://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Doe-v-Perplexity-Complaint-3-31-26.pdf

And here is their reporting: https://web.archive.org/web/https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2026/04/perplexitys-incognito-mode-is-a-sham-lawsuit-says/

I can not comment on the legal or factual merits of the case.
