The cat distribution system put Noonie in our path (or us in hers). She was in such a bad shape that the vet couldn't believe that she was alive at all, and gave her at most hours to live.
We took care of her, and she got to live another 4 1/2 months.
That was as big a miracle as we could hope for. Late last week, she stopped eating and drinking, and it was clear to everyone that she was on a path with no way back and that she was in tremendous pain. Her body is buried in the back of our yard.
