New Report on the Construction Progress of the Overpass and Underpass at Baraki Intersection Construction of the underpass at Baraki Intersection, initiated by the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Works Maintenance and Monitoring in the month of Jawza 1404 (solar year), has reached 80 percent progress and is expected to be completed by mid-1405. Meanwhile, construction of the overpass at the same intersection began in the month of Hoot 1404 and has so far achieved 15 percent progress. It is expected to be completed by the end of the current year. The underpass, extending from Naderia High School toward the traffic intersection, measures 470 meters in length, 20 meters in width, and 5.5 meters in depth. Similarly, the overpass, extending from Dahan-e Bagh Intersection toward Parwan Du Intersection, measures 700 meters in length, 20 meters in width, and 8 meters in height, and is supported by 247 pillars. The total estimated cost of the underpass and overpass at Baraki Intersection is 1.5 billion Afghanis. Designed in accordance with international standards, this project is located at a key junction connecting central parts of Kabul city and linking the northern and western zones. Upon completion, it will play an important role in reducing traffic congestion and supporting sustainable urban development.
