god windows 10 is so fucking bad, especially on a slow-ass Celeron

one of my relatives uses this laptop with 4GBs of RAM and W10 is horrid.

did you know that in the Settings app, there's a loading animation on the Windows Update page? it's right there at the top of the page, a slim animated progress bar

did you know that this loading animation isn't for the UI (which is actually just set to 0 opacity, meaning you can still select text and click on buttons), but for Windows Update itself, the update checker?

...but then other pages have a circular loading throbber for when it needs to show a loading animation without hiding the UI? 🤨 So why the fuck hide the UI then, why didn't they bother to put the circle animation on the Windows Update page as well?

just another one of those questions we'll never get an answer for. it's such a bad and inconsistent operating system JFC
