Sigh. Was looking at freenet and then the guy had to open his mouth and say decentralized content discovery via “unbiased” LLM writing “neutral” descriptions. Nothing better than reading someone’s “framework” for AI risk management and recognizing it’s mostly written or at least converted by Claude. Has anyone published an open source toolkit for stylometric analysis of text as a means to detect AI? I know Northeastern had a paper on it, but didn’t share anything tangible. I refuse to pay someone to detect humanity…

Look I get that hugging face is a 1st hand source, but they really didn’t provide any evidence or rationale explaining how they know the attack was LLM-based and they have a lot to gain by not only naming a Chinese open-source LLM but by also feeding into fear-based marketing… for all I know the models they used were hallucinating the “breach.” Nothing tampered with, no exfil, what even fucking happened lmao. I’m not buying this. Yet.

IMO, you could get the same or very close results with a traditional/non-llm model. You’d have to know about exploit discovery to build one sure, but you have to have the same level of knowledge to get the LLM to work even close to optimally. @mttaggart 1000% - not sure if you have already, but if you haven’t you should see how much of malicious infrastructure is stood up on cloudflares workers and pages dot dev. Not to mention how many of these sites have cloudflare protection in front of them. They’re just like any of these other tech monarchs. They’ll take anyone’s business and do the absolute bare fucking minimum to stop them.
