Wife has a procedure in Derriford on Friday morning @7:30AM. So we have booked a hotel close to the hospital. Also booked a meal at a restaurant that night. Turns out that Thursday is their &quot;Trust the chef&quot; night, the menu is an invention with what fresh ingredients they have that night. An adventure.

Last night the big parasol broke, one the arms snapped at the pivot point. I was going to dump it (over 10yrs old) But I looked at the break and had an idea. I had some aluminium tubing left over from the veg netting frames, so I bashed it into a rhomboid shape. it fitted into the hollow arm perfectly. A couple of rivets and a long bolt from the bits box and it is fine again.

Wife is home from hospital, safe, and asleep. Sleep is hard to come by in a busy ward.

The last 12 months has been exhausting. Too many ambulance trips, too many 3AM journeys home after hours spent in A&amp;E. Too many hour long drives to visit hospital wards. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.
