  I kept wanting July 4th to be a quiet night. I'm no fan of my neighbors setting off colorful explosives in the air. This year, I got my wish. I've never heard a less enthusiastic celebration than this year. I suspect things will be different when the long-awaited obituary is printed.

  Caught a three-day ban from Reddit for suggesting Trump's gave will be a gender-neutral restroom. It was clearly an AI ban, because I tripped the wrong keywords. I am reminded, once again, that in-person conversations are more meaningful than keyboard rants, however cathartic they might be.
