Interesting article about getting medical personnel and supplies for dealing with the hantavirus case on the island of Tristan de Cunha, the remotest inhabited place on earth. It&#39;s 78F with 71% humidity, so it is officially summer at our house today. Brought the deck furniture up from the basement, brought (some of) the plants out of the house, and getting the barbecue grill ready to go. #summer

I hate cleaning and sharpening the blades on my mower deck. It&#39;s big, heavy, and awkward to flip over and work on. So I used some scrap lumber and rope to make a sort of kickstand for it. It doesn&#39;t really qualify as a woodworking project, but it makes the deck a lot easier to handle and work on.

Just got back from a visit to the free &quot;seed bank&quot; at our local public library. Every year, some business donates all the unsold garden vegetable seed packets from the previous growing season to the library. Despite being labeled &quot;packed for 2025&quot; (or even &quot;2024&quot;), most of the seeds are still viable and will grow for a few years after their original sell-by date.
