<p>I develop apps for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GNOME" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GNOME</span></a> on Linux using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Lua" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Lua</span></a>. I strive to keep things simple, and simplify even further.</p><p>For fun, I like to play retro Nintendo games. I'm not much of a fan of multiplayer, but <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pok%C3%A9monChampions" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PokémonChampions</span></a> is slowly changing that.</p><p>🇨🇦🏳️⚧️👩❤️👩🏳️🌈👩💻🕹️😷💉×7</p>

The nice thing about this new profile pic is that I look incredulous, which might well be the exact emotion through which one ought to interpret anything I say in these clownish times.

Testing a hypothesis. Boosts for visibility are appreciated. Are you a programmer? Can you write HTML?

RE: https://sunny.garden/@bragefuglseth/116941900980651226 Finally—counting, on Linux! I'm very happy about Tally getting accepted in GNOME Circle. You won't always need it, but you'll be happy to have it when you do.

Went to a retro game store today and immediately and *wow* game prices are ridiculously high. $50 for Metroid II or Dragon Warrior Monsters is absolutely balkworthy. I could buy TV dock to play ROMs on the TV for that money.

Just cooked with charcoal for the first time. Did not go great! Notes for the next attempt: - Use more charcoal - Use a lot more fluid (they are not exaggerating when they say to soak the briquettes) - If you&#39;re looking, you ain&#39;t cooking!

I miss simple mechanics with hidden depth. I miss short but highly replayable adventures. I miss controls that wouldn&#39;t strain my thumbs. I miss games with ridiculous amounts of missions and extra content. I miss tight gameplay loops serving short sessions. I miss handheld video games. https://www.vtrlx.ca/posts/2026/handheld-games-a-eulogy/

Parchment is now available. Parchment is a plain text editor for #GNOME that delivers a clean and distraction-free writing experience. It stays out of your way and allows you to focus on what really matters: writing. I have written dozens of blog posts and several software projects using Parchment, including Parchment itself. Writeup ⇒ https://www.vtrlx.ca/posts/2026/parchment-now-available/ Get it on Flathub ⇒ https://flathub.org/apps/details/ca.vtrlx.Parchment Source code ⇒ https://codeberg...

Version 1.2 of Telepipe has been released. Tabs can now be duplicated. Duplicated tabs inherit the working directory, prefix, command output, and command history from their original tab. New tabs are now always opened in the home directory with no prefix. The tab overview now shows active prefixes (if any) and numbers each tab, to make it easier to differentiate similar tabs.
