I think it is a good time to re-watch Rick Steve's Iran episode: https://youtu.be/CYoa9hI3CXg

@darktable@photog.social echoing others in the replies, it would be nice to have a selection of Ui-wizard-like flows, walking through import, tagging, culling, suggested steps of processing, export. Maybe some of the sub-flows may be composable, e.g. I want these imports, culling, tagging, but that processing flow, and another export.

#homeassistant crowd, how would you automate the scenario: I have the "all off" automation, which turns off all lights, including those in the guest room. We do have guests sometimes. Usually, they stay between a couple of days and a couple of weeks. How may I mark the time when guests are visiting, so that during that time (usually between a couple of days and a couple of weeks), the automation skips the guest room lights?

@darktable@photog.social I can't find other posts in this thread, hence the self-answer. There was a previous post where someone asked "what can be done" regarding a new user onboarding. I am hesitant to barge in with an opinion, as the work done by Darktable volunteers is great, and I am super appreciative of the efforts! At no point below do I mean to say that improvements are a must, given how awesome Darktable already is. When I think about what would have helped...

RE: https://mastodon.online/@clarinette/116125124862717554 Interesting. I wonder if a *general* guidance to use AI by an in-house counsel would qualify in that judge's eyes as meeting the legal advice threshold. It also raises the importance of running local models. Clearly, it is a district court in New York, and it is non-precedential elsewhere. Yet in an unsettled legal context, courts are known to reuse each other's reasoning across the country, unless it is overruled.

RE: https://newsie.social/@ProPublica/116132487968430693 These people who flock to ICE have no business being corrections officers. IMHO.

Look out for this nasty option turned on by default on some IoT products on #Amazon. Another "surprise": the linked #Legrand's privacy policy does not render in a privacy -conscious browser config (no JS, no cookies). Guess which manufacturer is now a no-go for me.
