  On the subject of #Technology is neutral... What is a non-contrived use of a sword other than violence? Every tool is a weapon if you hold it right, but the converse is not always true... Technologies are often built with a purpose, and using it for other things *might* happen, sure, but some are less likely to be so flexible. Some serve large and powerful interests more readily than the common person. No technology exists outside of the society in which it is used. Just saying.

  Took #radicle the peer-to-peer code hosting platform for a spin yesterday... WOW. Just. Plain. Wow! Everything feels like a fairly natural extension of git itself, for someone reasonably comfortable with git at the commandline. git push and git fetch and such all behave as one would expect, using a git remote helper. But also did a great job incorporating patch tracking, which, again, just feels like a special git push or fetch. Issue tracking also feels similarly familiar. 5 of 5 stars!

  It has been a real long time since I read it, but apparently #KurtVonnegut published Player Piano in 1952! That's, like, *lots* of decades ago... Good thing today's technology is actually solving all our problems, instead of just making new ones!

  So, I was handing off responsibility for watching an inbox, and had the terrible idea to make a haiku-esq response mentioning the emptiness of the inbox and non-attachment. I clicked on "send" and the mail client helpfully popped up a message to make sure I really wanted to send the email, as it was missing the mentioned attachment. Kind of made my day on multiple counts.

  For our upcoming #Aikido and #Iaido seminar with Yelitza Cuevas Sensei, I proposed an experiment to host an open mat on the last day, for anybody who still has enough energy to try and work through or experiment with the techniques shown during the seminar ... while it is still fresh in memory!   Still seem to have dodged #Covid so far... But did get something nasty on my way to, from or during a conference last weekend... First time in 5 or 6 years I have gotten sick, actually, which has been a nice respite, honestly! I #WearAMask whenever I am in enclosed spaces with others outside my household. If 90% of everyone on the busses, trains, cars, and conference had been masking... the last few days I would have probably felt just fine... Unfortunately, that is not my reality. :(
