I watched an interview that classicist tom holland did of actor tom holland about the new odyssey movie and classicist tom holland made a good point about non-classicist chris nolan portraying certain scenes more fantastically to convey the mythological aspects of the story. I like that view so I feel ready to watch it now. it's still very hard for me to see matt damon as odysseus, very hard. but ok, matt, let's see what you've done

for mothers day we had dinner at my parents' house a day early and watched Uncharted for some reason. my mom gave me a poem she wrote that's in an upcoming anthology (it's good) this morning i made smitten kitchen french toast with whipped cream and fruit jelly. super good. ive lapsed into being a mediocre cook but the recipe covers me I still have some things to do yet but first I need to drowse off this meal

a week ago we bought an EV and now we're trying to figure out how much money in gas it will save but yikes charging at home is free unless we use more than the solar produces, which is hard to predict. last year we had a small amount due so I would expect that to get a bit bigger charging station prices are wild, like 25 cents per KWh at one place and 60 cents at another and finding the charging stations is a weird little adventure. I have three new apps installed and I hate that

I didn't actually know palookaville was so short lived. we just aggressively attended mostly local ska and punk shows there in 1994 and 1995 sublime wasn't all that well known in the mainstream when I saw them but it was packed anyway, they were like heroes to us and bradley was the lord of heroes we saw slow gherkin the most of all. they were amazing and loud and energetic https://en.everybodywiki.com/Palookaville_-_Santa_Cruz

my dad loved the concert! I liked the intro piece, Carnival Overture by Dvorak. my mom revealed her favorite song is The Weight by The Band, which they did not perform haha. (that would have been amazing) 12yo told me the concert was "good" but that's all I could get. she is tweenagering very hard rn and finds her dad Very Annoying https://youtu.be/VaQDFk0fDTk
