  Finally stood up an S3 compatible object store (Garage) on my NAS and have my masto instance using it. Whoo! sadly kind of a mess setup wise since the web endpoint seems to always default to domain-based bucket addressing :c I should setup a wildcard domain cert for the web root buuuuuuuuut, I don't wanna mess with bind right now :ms_sweat: It's on the list though, as it should be an easier and more controlled way to update my public DNS records as far as I understand.

  Tired of docker containers. It keeps being positioned as this nice "just run this container! it works OOB with this simple command!" Then quickly turns into "wellllll actually use this compose file because it's actually a stack of applications you need for typical use cases" Then eventually turns into "oh...you wanted to use TLS certs with this?? Well...here's the commands and config files to do it, there's no easy way to do it in docker w/o rolling your ow...

  I love relearning a lesson I learned before! This time it's how Gandi doesn't let you update your zone on their servers with TSIG--that's only for zone transfers to child servers. At least this time I'm keeping a notebook and writing this down!

  Final Fantasy Tactics: Chronicles of Ivalice is filling me with feels. I have formative memories tied up with this game, and playing it again just opened the flood gates on all of it. The remake is gorgeous as well! ...having said that, I may switch it to classic mode at some point :vlpn_w:

  Argh.... I did a goof and I over leveled my characters in FFT :c I just wanted the cool classes! but now I just stomp everything. Curse knowing the cheese strats for this game... I'm gonna have to do some kinda challenge run next time I play this.

  Oh dang what the heck.... So, in anticipation of opening the instance up, I wanted to change my handle from tincfox to tinc (been feeling less and less fox over time). And thought an account move would be the easiest way to do that...and didn't realize it's not possible to transfer or import posts... Welp, anyways, officially I'm moving over to @tinc for this instance. Don't think I'll transfer posts, just folks I follow and such. Will keep this account as an archive if...
