  U.S. peeps……what are some public #gardens that you think are slept on/overlooked? I’ll say Green Spring Gardens Horticultural Center near Lincolnia in northern #Virginia and Meadowlark Botanical Gardens northwest of Tysons. Both have a variety of garden types, including pollinator/wildflower gardens! Well worth a visit if you’re up in that part of Virginia at some point!

  Anyone have recommendations for a field guide type book for #moths and #butterflies that **also tells you what to plant to attract them?** Specific to the Mid-Atlantic region or the southeastern U.S.? I’m currently in the middle of helping my Mom re-do parts of her garden to make it more friendly to native pollinators. Much appreciated!

  I've been reading "Bringing Nature Home" by Doug Tallamy and got to the section on what to plant for helping sustain #wildlife, and decided to type up a quick summary for those who might not be sure what trees/shrubs are best for #insects and #birds and other critters.   I find it really amusing that rental prices are so much more reasonable as soon as you look outside of #Virginia. Like, what the hell is making Virginia one of the most expensive places to live on the east coast? My guess would be proximity to D.C. and all the defense contractors and whatnot in northern Virginia. Had no trouble finding rooms for rent at attainable prices literally anywhere else, lol!

  Why are people not flooding the streets and shutting down business as usual to protest this INSANE war in Iran that clearly was designed just to keep media attention away from the fact that the president is a rapist pedophile? Like, yes, the No Kings protests but WAY more people should be outraged. Protests in the U.S. are puny compared to what I see in Europe.

  The nursery I work at held its annual "open house" day today (20% off everything) and it was slammed busy, which is great because overall sales are down from pandemic levels. It's always interesting to see the generational difference as to who goes for what types of plants.
