One of the reasons #Boomers seemed to fair well is because our parents #taxed the #rich. For some reason we stopped during the 1970s. Scroll down to Marginal Tax Rates section of link below for more details. https://the5thc.blogspot.com/2025/11/on-reforming-capitalism.html

Methinks they are going a bit overboard with the April showers business.

Appears the owner doesn't seem interested in making a profit but just in providing a home for the tenants so perhaps turning it into a co-op with the residents buying in with enough funds to do the upgrades needed and a monthly co-op fee high enough to ensure this doesn't happen again might be an option. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/vernon-mobile-home-park-power-loss-9.7152632

Legacy systems are systems designed when software was designed to do what it was built for forever and not designed to require updates every six months.

Never underestimate the power of white privilege. Remember the people of a whole continent were misnamed for hundreds of years because one white man couldn't navigate. #WhitePrivilege

One step closer to moving my account to Ottawa Place, where i would have been if I knew about it when I joined Mastodon. Just waiting for the right time to do it uninterrupted without distraction. And of course there is always the possibility I will procrastinate or change my mind, but I am about 85% certain.

Oh yes I wanted to ask what the character limit was on #OttawaPlace i did not notice that when I was going through the rules.

Wondering whoever dreamed up calling other peoples computer servers connected to the internet "the cloud". When I think of clouds I think of light fluffy things that when they get full and heavy start to leak all over the place. Hardly the metaphor I would want to use for computer storage. #TheCloud

If the new NDP leader proves too "socialist" for some they can join the Liberals and drag them back to Liberalism from their current pretending to be the old PCs incarnation.

Just looked at my blog stats (on blogspot/blogger) over it's lifetime and my views really jumped when I joined Mastodon. in March 2023. Being on Twitter did not make any noticeable difference.

Only applies to workers under federal jurisdiction but still sets an example. "Most employees in Canada are covered by their provincial or territorial rates. Those range from a high of $19.75 in Nunavut to a low of $15 in Alberta.: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/federal-minimum-wage-increase-9.7140017

RE: https://social.vivaldi.net/@SnowyCA/116303823112614256 So I cannot wear an "I believe in democracy" t-short into the provinces most important institution of democracy because believing in democracy is definitely a political statement but [whoever the hell you worship] forbid political statements be allowed in the legislature. #hypocrisy #irony

What is there to say about bad people doing bad things to bad people probably for bad reasons except to scream about the innocent "collateral damage" and unknown unintended consequences.
