  It took me all weekend, fighting with weirdnesses from mostly Sunshine but I finally have a Linux gaming VM running #bazzite . I ran Subnautica for a few minutes to make sure it was really working, now loading some more stuff up to really test it out.

  Today in I hate hardware: going into a box to swap in some SATA drives. I get everything powered off, taken apart, took the drives off the old box. I go to put them in the new box..... where the hell are the SATA ports!? Dug around in the box for several minutes, also couldn't find the make of the board for looking at it. Put everything back together, powered it all up, used dmisecode to find the model info. Searched it up, there's a block of SATA ports clearly visible. Go back a...

  Ugh. I did a ton of storage migration work in the homelab this weekend, trying to undo a particularly slow set of file operations, only to find that it's the app that's slow, not the storage. I'm better off having done the work, I cleaned up a bunch of old cruft, but didn't hit my primary goal.
