Today in I hate hardware: going into a box to swap in some SATA drives. I get everything powered off, taken apart, took the drives off the old box. I go to put them in the new box..... where the hell are the SATA ports!? Dug around in the box for several minutes, also couldn't find the make of the board for looking at it. Put everything back together, powered it all up, used dmisecode to find the model info. Searched it up, there's a block of SATA ports clearly visible. Go back and peek at the board, don't see the block. Go back and stare at the web browser, back and forth a bit, do I have a different revision? Finally realize the SATA block is hidden entirely under my GPU.
