<p>Engineer, trying to kick the habit by doing humanities and science; that doesn't work but I like it. Not a specialist to "follow" for a single subject, but I might know how some things are connected. High Reading-to-TV ratio. A different perspective... Local young people, adolescents, even children: this sounds much like a viral social media thing. #ceuta https://elpais.com/espana/2026-08-01/sin-recursos-para-atender-a-los-menores-en-ceuta-veniamos-avisando-de-que-estaba-pasando-algo-pero-no-hicieron-caso.html

RE: https://mastodon.social/@cognitiveresearch/117021868284500550 Sometimes you find a pearl when you least expect it. Avoiding to search in places where masses of cheap class beads are in abundance certainly helps. Recommended reading :-)

I don't write too often about my cycling milestones - but I guess the one today is worth mentioning: I've reached the 20,000 km mark in this 208th day of the year. That's 96 km/day, every day. #cycling

Today temperatures are down almost 15 deg C... in the hills I read below 6 C compared to 20 C yesterday. I went cycling in the early afternoon, after the rain had turned into a light drizzle. Not a warm spring day like yesterday, but some flowers didn&#39;t mind. #spring #cycling #flowers #Germany

Last week, during our traditional Easter family reunion, I took my father&#39;s old Peugeot touring bike from the basement and gave it a quick check-up. This was the first time it&#39;s been used in at least 35 years. I believe it still has the original tires, chain and sprocket. Indexed shifters have come a long way since the 1980s: it&#39;s not for nothing that Shimano SIS can be switched to non-indexed. Good enough for the occasional 10km ride downtown and back. #cycling #bikeToot...

RE: https://mastodon.social/@arstechnica/116336626911568856 Sometimes we have the chance to re-assess our understanding of the world, and we have to be very careful to put what we think we know into perspective. The article below describes such a chance, to get a better understanding of the boundary between what we know as the Ediacaran and the Cambrian world. If such a boundary even exists. #science #epistemology

Thursday, the last meeting at work ended at 5:30pm. After the clock change that&#39;s still early enough for a nice 40 miles ride. #cycling #spring

RE: https://mastodon.social/@lemonde/116039123897484038 This is how rule by law works. Make freedom of speech a criminal act. #China is leading the way. #Russia has a different strategy, which doesn&#39;t just involve corrupt judges, but also tea, windows, staircases, &quot;stray&quot; bullets, and &quot;accidents&quot; with rare chemicals. Jimmy Lai is a hero, his conviction an act of resistance. #democracy #freepress #oppression #jimmylai

Rainy weather, almost the whole day spent in the office; innovation as reckoning and negotiations, building scaffolds around institutionalized deception. Extended commute in mild, windy and wet February weather, negotiating my way through dense traffic, escaping to the countryside. At home in the dark, past the 3000 km mark. #cycling #bikeTooter #winter

Cycling after sunset in February. The silent season for blackbirds and song thrushes has ended, the first bird songs fill the air, from tree to tree, from thicket to thicket. #cycling #spring

OpenCLAW bots start invading the Fediverse. I&#39;ve just blocked one, and I have a feeling that this won&#39;t be the last one. Setting up such a thing amounts to vandalism. #openclaw #aiSlop
