RE: https://chaos.social/@blinry/116512007546010561 We updated our contribution policy last week, which now states the following: "We do not accept any contributions that contain content generated by LLMs. This also includes all written communication on GitHub. We will close any pull request, issue, or discussion that does not comply to this policy." @blinry wrote a thread on some of the reasons for this:

Last month's gathering for working on a "Collaborative Editing Protocol" for text editors was a lot of fun! Among others, people from @hedgedoc, https://www.open-collab.tools, and https://braid.org participated. We will do a second meeting tomorrow! You're invited to join and share your thoughts on interoperable collaborative editing. ๐Ÿ•– 2026-03-26, 19:00-21:00 UTC ๐Ÿ”— https://meet.jit.si/collaborative-editing-protocol You can find an agenda (and our notes from...

Hey all! This is the project formerly known as @ethersync, a system for collaborative editing of plaintext files! We decided to rename to "Teamtype" because of a couple of reasons: - More self-descriptive - Highlights the collaborative aspect - Easier to pronounce - Avoids the association with "Ethereum" - We got a nice domain :) - And it's already crowd-validated by y'all (was in the top 5 in our poll last year: https://pol.is/report/r74mttm...

We released version 0.9.0 of Teamtype, continuing the versioning sequence from before. We also have features and small improvements coming along with this: - This version includes the `--sync-vcs` flag, an experiment for smooth Git integration. We invite you to try it and give us feedback! - When updating a number of files, we now trigger synchronization only for what really changed. - The follow-mode in Neovim was improved. We just released v0.9.1 of Teamtype! ๐ŸŽ‰ Highlights: There's now a Homebrew package: `brew install teamtype` When you just quickly wanna share or join a directory, you can now use the --temporary-directory/-t flag. It will create a directory in `$HOME/.cache/teamtype/`, use it for collaboration, and clean it up afterwards. You can set a custom username that other people will see using the --user flag, or set user=<name> in .teamtype/config (per project). https://github.c...

Imagine a protocol like #LSP, but for adding real-time collaboration to existing text editors. It would allow #Neovim to edit a #Hedgedoc, or peer-to-peer pair programming between #VSCode and #Emacs! We've come up with our own little protocol like that (for Teamtype), but we'd like to open up the discussion: That's why we're inviting everyone interested to an initial online gathering on Feb 26, 19:00 UTC, to gauge interest for working on a protocol like this together! https://...
