Hey all! This is the project formerly known as @ethersync, a system for collaborative editing of plaintext files!
We decided to rename to "Teamtype" because of a couple of reasons:
- More self-descriptive
- Highlights the collaborative aspect
- Easier to pronounce
- Avoids the association with "Ethereum"
- We got a nice domain :)
- And it's already crowd-validated by y'all (was in the top 5 in our poll last year: https://pol.is/report/r74mttmj5vrbh6c7hm64h)
We hope you'll like the new name as much as we do! ๐

@teamtype Hi Teamtype! I felt now was a good moment to introduce the project to Zed community, as it hasn't been mentioned yet at their discussion forum ๐ https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/discussions/27045#discussioncomment-14815034

@teamtype nice name! @ethersync reminds me of #SubEthaEdit, an old collaborative text editor for Mac. Do you know it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubEthaEdit https://subethaedit.net
