If you’re already heavily in on Apple hardware, honestly, you’ve got some great options right away to pivot to. iCloud has solid mail, calendar, cloud storage, etc. iWork gives you your office stuff. Passwords app handles that stuff great. All of these except Passwords has easy web versions too!

For those not keen on Apple stuff, I’m gonna highly recommend Proton. Nextcloud is another solid option if you wanna self host. These are just ones I know off the top of my head. There are plenty of other great options out there. There’s no need to stick with Google if you don’t want to.

Browser? Personally I mostly use Safari and Vivaldi these days. Vivaldi’s based on Chromium, but is ran by a small user focused company. Firefox is a solid option, though like Chrome, you have forks to consider too potentially like Waterfox and Librewolf. I could rant about Mozilla but let’s not.

That being said, I’ll drop one more note that I think bears mention. If you genuinely like what you’re using, and have no qualms about the company running it. Honestly, great. Keep at it. Just because you have a ton of folks pointing out your options and alternatives doesn’t mean you need to change.

Oh and search? Okay I’ll be real. Google fucking sucks these days. There might be some judgement there. Again you have solid options these days. Personally I pay for Kagi and I think it’s insanely worth it for quality search. DuckDuckGo is great for a free option. There are plenty others!

One thing I’ll note is that personally, I’m probably never gonna forget that Brave (browser and search) exist because a homophobe got chased out of running Mozilla. It will forever be the homophobe’s browser to me. I already don’t like that Kagi includes them in their index pool.

Continuing on from earlier. I get not being thrilled seeing anyone take money from Anthropic. But singling out Blender when you didn't bat an eye at the Linux Foundation, or Apache, or anyone else feels..shitty. If anything let Anthropic funnel its money into things with actual value before it dies.

Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers is now half way over, and all I can say is I really wish I thought it was good. Like I wanted to be very hyped for a revival of a show I really enjoyed. But it really doesn&#39;t have much going for it beyond nostalgia bait for me, and I need more than that. The writing, rushed to the point of incoherence. Treatment of characters? Rushed and willing to throw characters into a meatgrinder to meet those deadlines.
