@tess It's pretty surprising that Iran decided to target *that* site in particular.

@douglasvb Have you looked at the ballot? We have our choice of 527 candidates, some of them with real names!

@douglasvb I'm particularly fond of the candidate named "LivingForGod AndCountry DeMott". "Barack D Obama Shaw" is a close second. Somehow, even though the candidate list is the phone book, we are also allowed to write in a candidate.

@douglasvb If drafted, I will not run; if nominated, I will not accept; if elected, I will not serve...

Career announcement! After years working in the computing and devices industry I have decided it's time to return to my first love: lying in a crib and alternately sobbing and giggling.

FYI: squirrels like chewing through neutral feeds to houses. This is our power quality before and after PG&E fixed a degraded aluminum feed line.

I had a dream we hosted a party at our old house (haven't lived there in 11 years) and invited lots of old friends and college buddies and then we didn't show up.

Ok, finally gonna sit down and do some serious work on this song, track some bass, do a little draft mixing and.... Logic is busted, plugins only show empty windows. I'm gonna buy a 1975 16-track Ampex. At least when it breaks I can kick it.

Wow the 4'oclock wall hit me hard today. Who turned up the gravity on this couch?

I think I can finally call myself a pro-level drummer now. (Took out a flying moth with a drumstick without dropping the beat).

TIL: PBS has a streaming service called Passport that you get access to for as little as $5 donated to your local station per month. It's good! Lots of great documentaries, some foreign language shows, usual PBS stuff.

Decided to get donuts for the first time in years at the local place. Went in, chose carefully, lady bagged them up, promptly sneezed on the open bag and handed it to me. Paid, left. Never getting donuts again.

Seems unfair that a 4.6 earthquake could be that strong and lengthy and cause me to lose 90 minutes of sleep.

Delayed a podcast, scrambled for 30 minutes to set up an alternative audio recording system, then afterward debugged for an hour to figure out why the main audio interface stopped working and the answer is: I cannot read a routing matrix.

It's becoming a bit ridiculous (and frankly offputting) how every scifi show these days (looking at you Star Trek) indicates "damaged ships" with every possible light on the ship strobing for the entire episode. In the latest episode, not only was every light flashing and every display glitching for the entire show, but the bridge was on fire! The whole time! The crew ignored it! Don't you have fire extinguishers 1000 years in the future? Why are all your lights...

Elecia gave the dog some ice cubes for the first time today and the dog is very excited but instead of eating them she just picks them up, runs off to a different room, and stacks them near her toys.

I have to say, I was a lot more excited about tokens in 1985.

🧵I took some photos this weekend. This is the best of them. It's not a remarkable photo, though the dog is cute, but there's a story behind it (with more photos in the thread) that I think is interesting.

Need suggestions for not-too-expensive 3D printer filament spool dryers/storage. Ideally I'd like to be able to store at least 4 spools, but I don't need to dry them all at once I guess.

I should do some Eeyore-level marketing for Bandcamp Friday I guess: Our entire 12AX7 set of releases to date is only $6 digital, and I've dropped the price of our vinyl physical items by $5 a piece: $20 for blue swirl and $15 for regular black LPs. I'll send stickers with both of those. #BandcampFriday #bandcamp #indiemusic There I did it. https://12ax7.bandcamp.com
