  JD Vance told me last week that the bombing of the children’s hospital in Kyiv didn’t change his views on not providing aid to Ukraine. He continues to question whether U.S. has interests in Ukraine and prefers countering China. Condemns Russia but says the attacks reinforce his view they need a quick negotiated peace to end the killing. His view is 180 degrees from Mitch McConnell and most of the GOP defense establishment, but aligns with Trump.

  Remember they tossed George Santos out in December. Meanwhile, Menendez is still drawing a paycheck. The last U.S. senator to be expelled was in 1862, because secession. Menendez is facing fresh calls for expulsion but the Senate Ethics process hasn’t seriously been deployed since the Packwood case.

  @jonhendry Oh there are a bunch. And not just in the Trump era. Congress declaring wars went out the door around 1945, Congress has ceded its constitutional authority over tariffs to the WH and so on.
