  After reading the essay about boring tech (https://terrygodier.com/the-boring-internet) by @tg, I’ve been wondering about the DMA and other regulatory things. The chat control, the platform regulation, the age verification, all of it, requires that a central authority checks an ID, reads your content, etc. And you know what has no central authorities? The boring tech that is simply specs, protocols, etc. Most of the loud arguments about tech and privacy vanish when you move to boring tech.

  Am I getting this right: Red states in the US are delaying elections, including one already in progress, after a ruling by the Supreme Court legalising racial discrimination? Better start actually protesting or you’ll experience what its like to live in Russia without the hassle of moving there.

  I’ve been using the Magic Mouse from Apple since 2009. I tried other mice. I’m still using a Magic Mouse.

  Its actually easier to open old Sketch files in Figma than it is to convert them into modern Sketch files so i can open them in Sketch. Its as if the people at Sketch wants me to use Figma…

  Before there was #OpenAI and #ChatGPT, there was #DeepL, a German startup from Köln using AI for translation and other language tooling. They’ve continued to improve their product over the years, and we should pay more attention to them.
