Update! Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I have a number of new tools to check out. Hey, Mastodon audio peeps! What are we using on macOS to digitize and edit audio … that isn’t Audacity or GarageBand.

Twenty five years ago today, I compiled and published the very first version of the Newton Glossary as a page on my personal website. At the time, it consisted of a mere 527 terms and 23 sources. An early version of that page can be found in the Internet Archive. https://web.archive.org/web/20011031103303/splorp.com/newton/glossary/ Twenty. Five. It’s a bit hard to discern over the buzz of the crowd, but I think this sushi place in Seattle is playing a dance remix of Fleetwood Mac.

RE: https://mstdn.social/@Dr_Bombay/116411557725032487 I remember watching this film in eighth grade, circa 1977. It must have been shortly before school let out for summer, because the teachers were letting us choose films to borrow from the National Film Board of Canada. This was one of them. We were all bonkers about skateboarding in the late seventies, and the title locked us in.

@obsoletemediauk Hey Jason … I have a question about the 8" Bernoulli on the site. Do you have a 5MB disk in that size, or just the 10MB in the photos? I’ve run across a #RetroComputing thread mentioning that 5MB and 10/20MB cartridges have different form factors. Have you run across this detail?

I found a great supplier for acrylic sheets here in town. Bought a few in various amazing colours. Just realized the sheets I bought are slightly too big to fit into my #glowforge … hello, bandsaw!

I’ve been going through my old design files and found this unused logo I did for a high school friend back in <cough>1981</cough>. Used all my Letraset and line tape chops on this one.

Here’s a little tidbit from my #AppleNewton collection. (As requested by @haineux, @stack, and @Eggfreckles) This is a Newton “Dummy” Product for use as part of retail display. I’ve had this item for years and thought I’d photographed it, but the box had never been opened.

@cyd I’ve used Cyd to archive multiple X accounts, but using two different computers. Is there a way to merge the archives so I can see them all in the sidebar of one of the machines? Does “Reset Cyd” under Advanced settings delete the archive data or just the application settings?
