I did not know about the situation regarding #Booklore and oh boy what a read that was. Situations like these only reinforce my scepticism regarding immature and (especially) AI-assisted self-hosted projects. After all, my family and friends who use my services do not care about drama happening behind the scenes. They need a viable alternative to #BigTech, and uncertainty is the opposite of "viable". I recently did #GiveUpGitHub and moved all my repos to @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de and a personal @gitea@social.gitea.io instance, while leaving behind only those that are forks of GitHub-hosted #FOSS projects. It was fairly easy for me, as I do not maintain any popular repo, and am not tied to any org using GH, but I strongly believe that every person counts. A true revolution is a sum of many small disobediences and riots. Fuck #BigTech, let's regain control of what belongs to us, people....
