Got my Steam Controller yesterday and I can pretty confidently say this is my favorite controller I've ever used. Actual controller layout is like the Dual Sense, my other favorite, but it's lighter and angled slightly better, and _then_ you get the trackpads and grip buttons!

I've been on quite the agentic coding journey today. I was really hating the back-and-forth I was doing with my agent on refining a problem space, I made an agent to check its work before it got back to me. That only solved half the problem. I noticed something funny in the responses though—my first agent told me it went back and forth with the review agent. When I eventually got fed up with the poor quality response I was still getting, I asked to make a panel of adversarial agents argu...

An interesting thing that I think agentic coding can unlock is better, more secure offline first experiences. Offline first already required some specialized knowledge and testing, agents can greatly reduce the barrier to entry here that I think could be super beneficial. #webdev #ai

I'm sad to report I've found the first thing that's legitimately worse in Canada than it is in the States: Ritz crackers. They're much thicker here, less buttery and crave-able, and they don't come in individual sleeves, they're just thrown into a box. T'was a sad day finding this out today.

Never has "Program testing can be used to show the presence of bugs, but never to show their absence!" ever been more true than with AI generated tests.

Ooo, got access to Opus 4.8, and it keeps trying to fetch example.com because… maybe it's a placeholder URL in a test somewhere? It can't even explain to me why it needs to do that.

I will say I'm incredibly impressed with Gemini 3.5 Flash's speed. There are some responses I get from it that feel like they appear before I finish hitting my enter key, and the results (for fairly easy stuff so far) have been very good

Really love when an LLM tells you confidently that something you’ve written is wrong, and then in explaining to you why its wrong and offering you alternatives, it reinvents your (was always correct) option as its own choice. Just bravo A+ AGI is right around the corner here kinda shit, not just spicy (if useful) autocorrect

Just deployed the first working build of my in-progress ground-up refactor of ChromeOS.dev. I've been migrating us to @sanity_io and @astro, to improve our content creation experience and our developer experience, and I've finally been able to test the whole thing end-to-end. The results? Comparable performance footprint, better DX, easier to maintain components, improved component UX, basically everything you could hope for out of a tech lift and shift. Expect a post when it&am...

I've recently been using an AI coding agent as a sounding board to help me get the TTRPG I'm writing balanced and ready for play testing (turns out, pattern matching lots of written language _plus_ a bunch of statistics _plus_ nerds being angry on the Internet about game balance is right in an LLM's wheelhouse). It's solidified for me that these tools _can't_ be creative, but more-so, what their limits really are (at least currently)

Because at home printing is literally just a scam, I managed to buy a full home office printer/scanner combo yesterday for literally $30 cheaper than buying the ink, and almost half the price of a printer that had been discontinued and they were trying to drop inventory of.

RE: https://front-end.social/@stefan/116442286173651407 I literally just found this out the other day, because, of all things, I was trying to work around my coding agent proposing an absolutely wacky workaround to make this work for a text input.

I've been using Chrome vertical tabs for a couple weeks now, and I'm torn as to whether or not I like them. I _do_ like that it makes the sites I'm browsing feel more app-like (the entire browser chrome lives in the title bar area!) but I don't love that I either need to take up a lot of horizontal space to see what tab I'm on or I loose context by only having favicons running down the side of my browser. How do y'all manage this?

Currently it's hard-coded to the percentages from Powered by the Apocalypse, but if someone's really interested I'll think of a way to add custom ranges. https://snugug.github.io/roll-probability/
