  Bogongs eh? How do they get into the house? We have 5 fluttering about, so we've retreated to the bedroom, turned off all the lights in the rest of the house, opened the balcony doors, and turned the balcony lights on.... 🤞

  Jeeeezuz.... electricity bill just landed. We were in credit last time (solar panels, no battery), this one: $500. Winter, sure, but the house sitter must have had the reverse cycle going for the whole 8 weeks. 😱

  Day started with a cat vomit, yay. Then the roofers arrived next door, AGAIN, so I shall be replanting the succulents for a third time this arvo I reckon. Next up: some food prep for tomorrow's lunch guests, then some housework and a bit of last minute shopping. Food theme for tomorrow: Vietnamese BBQ. Meaty marinated things on sticks, Asian salad, rice, some home made sauces, then coconut pandan icecream with mango. 👌

  Back to back concerts tonight, from 5pm. That's a long time to go without food at dinner time. Himself has already eaten (another story) so I have whipped myself up a Japanese rice and tofu thing for the mini rice cooker, currently whirring. I will need to take some snacks though. It's one of those rare situations where one of the concerts is his very own choir but which he is not singing in (we were away for half the rehearsals).

  Sipping a very underwhelming Lagavulin 11yo #whisky. Bloody Diageo, they ruined a fabulous budding Aussie whisky distillery (Starward), and now they've killed the Lag (Islay, Scotland). Needless to say, the worst whisky in the world is also theirs: Johnny Walker, ew.... Everything they touch turns to shit.

  Just been out to water the succulent cuttings I guerilla gardened in front of our neighbour's house (it's a wasteland), and found them squashed under a pile of roof tiles and half dry cement, presumably after the tradies were pressure spraying and repairing his roof the other day. Bastards. Pulled it all off, fixed them up and watered them. Stephen won't even notice, he doesn't get out much and isn't into gardens, but I was hoping to make his front entrance a bit more attract...

  Forced myself to watch the National Forum. There was a massive 🐘 in the room, unsurprisingly; this was highlighted by the announcement that the wonderful Nyadol Nyuon is leaving Australia, with her 2 children. She described anger and grief for the country she loves but cannot stay in. 💔 Says it all really. Thanks Poorlean. 'Social cohesion' is a pipedream unless we deal with our racism. #AusPol
