  When subversion came out, everyone switched from cvs because you could rename files without losing all the files' history, and branches were cheap. We branched all the time. Do a release? Make a branch. But we never ever merged. I tried to merge once in a "feature branch"-like pattern. It was a bookkeeping nightmare.   So I'm learning French, and I watched Le Samourai (1967) movie with mastodon crowd. I was hoping to watch it with French subtitles but I couldn't find that anywhere, and my ear is too slow to pick up much without subtitles. But it was a fun new media experience. 1/
