So quick question: hacking into somebody else's servers and stealing information is a long-established crime. This week, OpenAI breached HuggingFace's servers. Why hasn't there been a criminal investigation? It seems clear a crime has been committed. https://x.com/ClementDelangue/status/208105667555

It took my several weeks to watch the original Heartstopper. Now I have a 2-hour final movie to get through and I'm 15 seconds in and have already paused to let the awkward subside. How long will it take me to watch? Place your bets.

The weirdest thing about the Iran war is the way the oil prices keeps bouncing up and down as if something good happened then something bad happened when in fact only bad things have happened.

Did OpenAI hack Hugging Face or didn't they? It seems like it should be a simple question but I did a pile of research and it seems the answer is very complicated indeed. https://seldo.com/posts/did-openai-hack-hugging-face-or-didnt-they/

Our house is 90 minutes away from anywhere, so whenever there's a power outage (as there was this morning) I know it will always be at least 90 minutes until power comes back, because that's how long it takes the truck to get here and discover there's a squirrel on the wire or whatever.

The thing about securing npm is that it's incredibly expensive to do. Socket does it for money. If Microsoft tried to charge for securing npm they would be criticized for not doing it for free so instead they just... don't do it, leading to our current mess.

The immigration system is set up like coming to America is a privilege America bestows and applicants should grovel for, when in fact immigration is a gift that America desperately requires. We should be begging people to come here, not erecting further barriers.
