We somehow went from &quot;script kiddies are bad&quot; to giving any random office worker the power to launch hundreds of programs that will hammer unknown servers across the web to make mediocre power point presentations. Not to mention the massive usage spikes that are now hitting public software and data repositories. What a world.

In the past I always looked down on that &quot;verify installation media&quot; option that is available on most Linux bootable media (I think). What&#39;s going to happen, I thought to myself? Never had an issue with an installation media before. Of course, I always tested anyway, just to be sure and to calm my paranoia. This is the first time that the test caught a corrupted USB drive and man am I glad that this feature exists. Always test important stuff, even if it seems silly....

AI companies copy all written works they can get their hands on and call it fair use, if someone does it to their models it suddenly becomes "unauthorized distillation" and should be actionable in court.
