In the past I always looked down on that "verify installation media" option that is available on most Linux bootable media (I think). What's going to happen, I thought to myself? Never had an issue with an installation media before. Of course, I always tested anyway, just to be sure and to calm my paranoia. This is the first time that the test caught a corrupted USB drive and man am I glad that this feature exists. Always test important stuff, even if it seems silly. #Testing
