The people rooting for an AI “bubble burst” - are you ready for that pain? The tech bubble bursting in the 2000’s was ugly. If tech spending drops again - and it would - wouldn’t that be the opposite of what we want to have happen?

I reached final rounds on three roles and struck out on all three. Is this common now? Or am I losing my mojo?

AI taught me someting about TLS I didn't know today: I can validate a certificate on an ALB and pass a Host header override at the same time, avoiding having to issue SSL certs for each domain on the ALB.

I’m so thankful the president wasn’t harmed last night. This isn’t an endorsement of him. This is a statement against making him a martyr. It’s a statement against using violence to achieve ends. It’s a statement against guns proliferating so much so that a secret service agent took a bullet for a felon. The president lives. But countless others won’t because of his policies on firearms. This is his third run-in with gun violence. When will it end?

On Thursday if all goes according to plan I’ll enter the first phase of treatment for PTSD. This PTSD was caused by the mental health care system in America treating mental health patients as criminals, rather than seeing them as ill. I bear the scars from their “treatment.” I’m hopeful that my stability and insight will let me focus on the outcomes I want and ensure that I can once again enjoy life as I did before 2016.

PTSD sucks and treatment is hard. That’s it. That’s the post.

As I consider treatment for my PTSD this summer guilt consumes me for the potential of having to uproot my life and pause things with my kids. The treatment is necessary, yet the cost is very real.

Fun fact: the elephant is the mascot for the PHP programming language. Elephants gather in herds, but they’re led by a matriarch. The males are not part of herds. They roam solo. Since we’re said to be part of the “elephpant herd” one can assume that PHP is inherently female - in both makeup and leadership. You’re welcome.

We need wholesale regime change in that region. I meant North America. Why? What did you think I meant?

It’s not often that I am truly afraid. But I am today. I fear for my neighbors who are Persian. I fear for my fellow humans who are in Iran. And I fear for my homeland, which is led by a madman. I don’t know what happens in 3 hours and 30 minutes. Nobody does. And that produces lots and lots of fear.

Need a new business idea? Pick any existing successful business and copy it. Operate ethically and leave out the Nazi associations, AI slopfest, and/or maximum value extraction for PE profits. You’ll retire wealthy. Not Bezos wealthy. But wealthy enough.

I have a hosting client who canceled and when I told him he needed to migrate his site he told me he didn’t know I was hosting it. Kinda like missing the point?

More drama from the client. Now that he’s canceled he wants me to move his site for him. Because that makes sense.
